Description

Early 19th century mahogany secretaire campaign chest of drawers
Provenance: The chest contains papers relating to its owner, Richard Smith, who was in the navy and died on HMS Princess Royal c 1867. The chest was left to his sister Mary Tuppen, and then passed to her daughter Ada Tuppen on Mary's death in 1904. Ada left the chest to her nephew Harold Tuppen on her death in 1950. Harold gave the chest to his stepson Geoffery Oakshott on 10/2/1950.
